Boombox Cartel Proves He’s A Trap Powerhouse With Cartel II

Released
2021

On May 21, Boombox Cartel finally dropped Cartel II, the highly anticipated sequel to his 2017 debut, Cartel, once again validating why he is the mastermind of trap. After breaking into the scene in 2015, Boombox Cartel has been on an upward rampage, becoming one of EDM’s brightest and most promising producers. Even if you’ve never heard of the Texas producer, you’ve definitely heard his tracks trickle through the festival circuit and your favorite DJs’ sets. By uniquely blending hip-hop and electronic music with obscure sounds of Latin America, Boombox Cartel has transcended electronic trap and stands in a lane all his own.  Earning attention from Diplo and collaborating with Dillon Francis, Desiigner, MadeinTYO, Grabbitz, and more, Boombox Cartel proved to be a force to be reckoned with. The release of Cartell II pushes that narrative along even further.

Cartel II perfectly proceeds his debut EP Cartel.

After taking such a long break in between releases, Boombox Cartel was still able to perfectly capture the essence of his debut EP. Not only did he stay true to his sound, but he pushed the boundaries of trap even further. From the melodic opener in Monta to trap heaters like Rock Dem and Fatal Attraction, the 7 track EP is striking and industrious.

Cartel II’s features are full of promising talent.

Boombox Cartel did not shy away when it came to collaborations. Picking an array of talent from bass DJ Moody Good to rappers JID and Reese Laflare. Boombox Cartel showcases the future of hip-hop and EDM while fitting them perfectly into his sound.

Boombox Cartel is on pace to set festival stages ablaze.

The release of Cartel II means one thing and one thing only: Boombox Cartel is about to go off this festival season. Full of festival anthems and trap bangers, Boombox cartel is one set you don’t want to miss! Catch him playing Bonnaroo on Labor Day weekend!
