After closing out 2023 with their weapons raised on not playin’, the sfam boys are back, firing from all angles with their latest off-kilter, wub-riddled single listen here. Released today, February 2, through HypnoVizion, listen here serves as the second single off their upcoming EP not playin’ and is an absolute banger of a track.
While previously teased during Four Tet’s recent The Lot Radio set, listen here has quickly become one of the duo’s most in-demand IDs. Curating a masterful blend of spaced-out melodies, rattling basslines, and unruly soundscapes, sfam first lulls you into a chilled-out state before blasting you into a hazy daze of unfiltered bass.
“We love making minimal tracks that also pack a punch, so we went into this one with that exact mindset. This one almost sounds like a foot race,” sfam explained. “We started with a calmer intro, then the energy starts to build, then into the drop that gives the sense of two people racing.”
