Freddy Todd Rides Waves Of Psychedelia With ‘Chaos Hotline’

When it comes down to it, few artists in bass music are as revolutionary as Freddy Todd. Known for his unique genre-bending sound, the Detroit-born producer is not only one of the most prolific producers in the game but is someone who consistently pushes the boundaries of electronic music.

After kicking off 2024 with a brilliant single in Shadow Of A Torch, Freddy Todd is back with his now 10th full-length album, Chaos Hotline. Released on Friday, February 23, through Memory Palace Chaos Hotline, is a nine-track LP that’ll send you soaring through the multicolored waves of time. Blending new palettes of sound with his infamous funakaldic style, Chaos Hotline is one of Freddy Todd’s most innovative records to date.

Chaos Hotline is beautiful, chaotic, and psychedelic.

If you had to describe Chaos Hotline in just three words, beautiful, chaotic, and psychedelic would come to mind. Blending experimental soundscapes, hypnotic melodies, and tinctures of bass-fueled nostalgia, Freddy Todd not only ventures into unexplored realms of sound but captures a wide spectrum of emotions and feelings with each and every track. Whether he’s inducing a contagious sense of funk-fueled euphoria with Day Of My Life, blasting you into oblivion with edgy stabs of bass on Sworda, or dissolving your current reality with Sacral Blur, the album hits on all levels.

Freddy Todd Creates an immersive journey into sound.

Not only does Chaos Hotline stimulate your senses through versatile soundscapes, but like all Freddy Todd albums, it takes you on an immersive journey into sound and vibrations. From the opening track, Look to Deep (See the Music), to the closer, Multishine, and every tune in between,  Chaos Hotline is a tangible sonic experience that somehow feels like an acid trip in hyperdrive.

Freddy Todd shows no signs of slowing down.

Although Freddy Todd has been captivating audiences with his visionary sound for well over a decade, he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon, and if anything, Chaos Hotline further cements the idea that he is just getting started. Transmitting everything from funkadelic frequencies to electrifying trap-heavy beats and all-encompassing bass, he has created a record that’s both inspiring and revolutionary.
