The rising bass producer Noer the Boy has returned to Rezz’s label HypnoVizion for his latest EP, Mr. Gibbons. Released on Friday, May 10, Mr. Gibbons is a captivating fusion of sound fueled by wonky drops of bass and experimental sound design.
Spanning across three tracks, the EP is more than just an exploration into sound as the rising bass producer introduces listeners to the otherworldly being that is Mr. Gibbons. Through a mind-bending array of glitchy soundscapes, distorted atmospheres, and knocking bass drops, Noer the Boy showcases an undeniable sense of creativity and delivers an absolute must-listen.
“I’m a big fan of concept records,” he explained. “Each of these three tracks represent the nonchalant and unstoppable march of Mr. Gibbons. He’s unaware of his powers and only wants to keep moving and exploring and playing. I take a lot of inspiration from classical marches, and this is my attempt to transmute those compositional techniques into electronic bass music. Drawing inspiration from older art forms and infusing it with new approaches is a creative goldmine.”
