It’s anotha hot one!
Closing out his 2024 takeover Tape B is finishing the year strong with a massive EP Distortion Theory.
Released today, December 4, Distortion Theory is an 8-track excursion into heavy bass and vibrations as the visionary producer showcases his unique heavy-hitting sound like never before. Blending everything from hip-hop-riddled beats to tripped-out soundscapes, and reality-bending bass the record not only highlights Tape B’s trademark sound design but redefines the trajectory of bass music.
Influenced by the sounds of the Hallow Tapes, Tape B captures the essence of fall and the feelings that come with it through an array of heavy bass and dubstep-fueled euphoria. From the resonating basslines of Hot One to the otherworldly nostalgia of Someone to Hold with Dani King, Distortion Theory is more than just a collection of bangers but a captivating representation of Tape B’s current sound.
“This is an ode to Hallow Tapes, and kinda like a second version of it. it was supposed to come out on Halloween but it wasn’t ready in time and we didn’t want to rush anything. This EP feels like a great representation of where I’m at with music production at the moment. Some of these songs are a couple years old but I have been making different versions of them up until now so that I’m able to release a version that I’m truly happy with,” Tape B explained. “Overall, this EP is supposed to be the essence of fall season and capture the feeling of nostalgia and what fall feels and sounds like to me, I hope y’all enjoy.”
