While Jade Cicada’s earlier works, like his acclaimed Pressure Gamut LP, embraced a dense, multilayered approach, Lunar Fade marks a bold departure toward a simplistic yet beautifully polished sound. Spanning 4 tracks, the EP, while meticulously crafted, is left intentionally spacious, providing listeners with room to appreciate the delicate interplay of airy harmonies, hazy textures, and otherworldly bass.
By experimenting with a new DAW, Jade Cicada allowed himself to reframe his approach and in doing so crafts a cleaner, more refined sonic landscape you can hear throughout the record.
“Using a new DAW is a huge inspiration in and of itself. New tools bring new ways of thinking and working. I just try to follow where the sounds take me.” Cicada shared.

Opening up with Lunar Fade, the journey takes course through an array of lush melodies, and lively vibrations that immerse you in a multi-colored realm of sound. Then the next track Goober Time, shifts the energy into a new gear with an array of stuttering beats and hypnotic basslines that somehow feel both chaotic yet sublime.
As the adventure continues, the third track, Froggy Style, lives up to its name, by hopping between sploinky textures, bass-driven grooves, and gloopy wubs, showcasing a lighthearted yet powerfully impressive sound. Finally, the lead single, Frame Shift wraps up the EP with raw emotion and resonating bass, creating a feeling akin to looking up at the stars while pondering the vastness of space.
