What So Not and Alina Pash have reconnected for a massive new collab, Everest.

Released on Friday, May 29,  Everest serves as the first single from What So Not’s forthcoming EP, I Saw A Trap DJ And It Changed My Bio Chemistry.

“A friend of my roommate at the time, Alina, pulled up to my apartment in LA one day, and this record is what we created the first time we ever stepped into the studio,” What So Not shared. “When Alina first heard it, she wrote a mantra in her native language, a call for strength and unity in troubling times. I can’t imagine a better-suited performance for this production and what I’d hope it would become.”

Built around Alina Pash’s haunting yet captivating vocals, the track takes listeners on a cinematic journey through hypnotic melodies, emotional soundscapes, and mind-altering trap production, while exploring themes of connection, healing, and transcendence.

“As a Ukrainian, my roots, my language, my culture – they feel more precious and more fragile than ever right now, when so much is being threatened,” Alina Pash added. “It has long been my dream to share who we are with the world, to simply say: we exist, we are beautiful, we are here.”

Serving as a powerful continuation of the duo’s shared chemistry, Everest not only expands on the sound first introduced on their 2025 collab, Tragic, but marks the beginning of a new creative era for What So Not.
