Brostep is so back!

After spending the past year building Killed It! through massive releases like 100% NO AI, BARELY ALIVE is officially opening their label to the next generation of brostep with Killed It! Vol. 1.

Released Friday, August 7, Killed It! Vol. 1 marks the imprint’s debut compilation and celebrates the raw, high-energy sound that made brostep a defining force throughout the 2010s across 18 heavy-hitting tracks.

Bringing together everyone from underground producers and rising acts to veteran names from across the modern brostep landscape, the compilation honors the genre’s roots while pushing the sound into a new frontier.

Kicking things off, BARELY ALIVE links with Cyclops on WHATEVER HAPPENED TO DUBSTEP, delivering a rowdy collision of warped vocals, filthy bass growls, and unpredictable drops that sets the tone for the compilation.

With Bizo, Smiles Only, Edison Cole, K1N, Shming, SAMPLE BANDIT, Phaceless, altair, and more rounding out the project, Killed It! Vol. 1 not only sees BARELY ALIVE champion rising producers but also helps usher in a new era of brostep built by the next generation.

“We wanted to kick off the label’s next chapter with bangs, growls, and lasers,” BARELY ALIVE shared. “‘Killed It! Vol. 1’ is a heartfelt statement from a community of artists bringing their own perspective to brostep and an introduction to the sounds audiences can expect to hear much more from in the future. These artists have a lot to say, and they are only getting started.”
