If Subtronics unraveled spacetime with his debut album Fractals, then his sophomore album TESSERACT explores a whole new reality altogether. Armed with a heavy arsenal of mind-bending sounds, the leader of the Cyclops Army can be found dwelling somewhere within the constructs of hyperspace. Inspired by the idea of an alternate dimension, TESSERACT is not just an album but a mind-expanding experiment into sound, vibrations, and, of course, the nature of reality.

TESSERACT is a brilliant spacetime Odyssey
Creating a world inside a world Subtronics transports listeners to a place where there is no space or time. Representing the hypothetical theory of alternate dimensions, the tesseract is a hypercube that essentially serves as a bridge between the third and fourth dimensions. Through kaleidoscopic sound design and vibrating waves of bass, Subtronics walks along that bridge, immersing himself into the abyss while leading us into the unknown.
From the opening track, Cottage Gore, to the closer, Buried Alive, Subtronics flips reality upside down and blasts us into a dreamlike realm filled with swirling frequencies, tripped-out melodies, and face-melting bass. Intertwining the physical with the metaphysical, TESSERACT is a cosmic tripped-out adventure that’ll leave you pondering existence itself.
Subtronics transcends dubstep.
Just as TESSERACT transcends reality, Subtronics transcends genres and showcases a never-before-seen sense of versatility. While he undeniably pushes the boundaries of dubstep with an abundance of planet-crushing bass, it’s the tracks that don’t fall into the category of dubstep that really solidify his artistry. From the drum and bass beats of Only Star You Can See to hip-hop-inspired tracks like Parabola Paradox and Afternoon Coffee and the groovy house-like elements of Dreams (Plasma Reflex), the album is the most diverse project Subtronics has ever put out.
Subtronics rings in a new era of sound.
It’s no secret that since its release, TESSERACT has taken over the electronic scene with an unrelenting force. From bringing the tracks to life with a truly mind-boggling stage design to charting in the top three of Spotify’s debut albums, TESSERACT is not only breaking down barriers for bass music but music, period. While the album has only been out for nearly a week, it’s clear Subtronics has cemented himself into the upper echelon of sound.
