Two of the quickest rising names in bass music, Steller and Zingara, just dropped their highly anticipated collaborative EP, Is This Real?.
Released Wednesday, August 13, Is This Real? immerses listeners into a psychedelic realm of sound that’ll leave you questioning your reality. Spanning across three genre-bending tracks, the heavy-hitting duo seamlessly weaves their two distinct styles into one mind-trip of an experience.
“Whenever Zingara and I create together, it feels effortless,” Steller shared. “She had started the intro, and we built from there, with the first track exploring the idea of time and questioning reality. Everything seemed to align in unusual ways during the process, and the music reflects that sense of meaning and synchronicity.”
Opening with the titular track Is This Real? the EP immediately pulls you into a trance-like state as meditative frequencies morph into a rush of hypnotic wubz that launch you into the ether, setting the tone for the journey ahead.
Then, the second track Better Believe It shakes things up with a dose of saxophone riffs, jazz-inspired beats, and melodic bass drops that’ll have you lost within the rhythm.
Then, the journey ultimately comes to an end with the long-awaited Find It In Your Mind VIP as Zingara and Steller unleash a time-warping fusion of wub-infused energy and high vibrations.
“‘Is This Real?’ explores reincarnation, collective consciousness, and the nature of time itself,” Zingara explained. “We began this project as my great-grandma was passing. I got a phone call about her last days while we were working together, and the words became symbolic of her journey. It brought Steller and I closer through music, friendship, and studying these concepts.”
