Fresh off the release of CarTunes Vol. 5, Tape B is back with a massive new single, Signature Sound.
Released today, August 12, Signature Sound sees Tape B join forces with Zaytoven, the legendary hip-hop producer known for his work with artists like Gucci Mane, Future, and Migos, delivering a masterclass in bass music production.
Layering clipped audio of Zaytoven discussing his creative process with wubby bass drops, heavy-hitting drums, and that wah-wah-wah sound in it, Tape B not only highlights his forward-thinking sound design but delivers a record that lives at the intersection between hip-hop and dubstep.
While Tape B has notably paid homage throughout his career, Signature Sound feels less like a one-off crossover moment and more like the next chapter in his creative journey.
“When I saw a video of Zaytoven talking about his production process, I thought that him talking about the ‘wub’ sound was perfect for a revamped modern version of the UKF dubstep tutorial but in a new school way,” Tape B shared. “We reached out to Zaytoven’s team and had some phone calls about making this an official collaboration and they were very excited about it. My goal is to continue bridging the gap between hip-hop and dubstep and this song is a great example of it. The song was the intro to my sets on my fall 2025 bus tour and has been a favorite in every set since.”
