Tape B and Effin have joined forces for a massive new single, I’ll Never Know.
Released today, September 11, I’ll Never Know marks their third official collab, landing right at the heels of Tape B’s announcement for his debut studio album, Ghost in the Static, slated to drop on October 2.
Bridging Tape B’s old-school dubstep sound and spirited hip-hop flavor with Effin’s vintage sampling and emotional songwriting, the two bass music heavyweights put on a masterclass in modern bass production, sonic storytelling, and musical discovery.
Centered around a recording of the timeless 1919 jazz standard Baby Won’t You Please Come Home, the track seamlessly weaves pitched vocal samples and raw hip-hop bars with hard-hitting wubs, warping basslines, and nostalgic textures, creating an immersive, soul-stirring journey into sound.
With I’ll Never Know, Tape B and Effin not only build on the shared chemistry displayed on their 2025 collab, Ups and Downs, and their viral 2024 flip of Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black, but once again highlight a willingness to push far beyond the boundaries of bass music.
