Brace yourselves, as we enter the portal into the Tesseract!
But before we reach oblivion, Subtronics has one thing to ask—“Have you ever questioned the nature of your reality?”
With the release of his latest EP, Fibonacci Part 1: Oblivion, the iconic dubstep maestro and acclaimed leader of the Cyclops Army embarks on an interdimensional journey into sound, geometric patterns, and the miraculous nature of existence.
Released today, April 4, Fibonacci Part 1: Oblivion picks up right where FRACTALS and Tesseract left off, where the fundamental laws of the universe manifest in the form of brain-tickling vibrations and heavy-hitting drops of bass.
Driven by the mathematical phenomenon known as the Fibonacci sequence, the EP serves as the first chapter of a two-part series that will ultimately morph into one cohesive listening experience.

Subtronics explores the nature of reality.
Drawing inspiration from the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical pattern found in everything from galaxies to wild flowers, the EP serves as an exploration of the patterns that govern reality.
Known as a series in which each number is the sum of the two preceding it, the Fibonacci sequence serves as the foundation for both the EP’s structure and meaning.
For example, Part 1 spans 8 tracks, a number found early within the sequence. Oblivion then signifies the beginning of the ever-expanding equation. So starting with Oblivion, each track contributes to the progression of the story by continuously unlocking a new piece of the puzzle as the journey unfolds.
“Part 1 of the EP conveys that all of reality, in its complexity and grandeur, originates from nature and the fundamental laws of the universe, Subtronics explained. “It emphasizes the Fibonacci sequence and golden ratio as intrinsic patterns that govern nature, not through divine intervention, but through physics. Building on themes of alternate dimensions and fractals, the Fibonacci spiral is presented as the foundational DNA of reality.”

Part 1 is a cinematic journey through time.
Blasting off with Oblivion, Subtronics immediately launches you through a wormhole of sound as all-consuming synths and wompy basslines overtake your being. As the journey progresses, you find yourself venturing deeper and deeper into the constructs of the multiverse, fueled by a vast range of sounds making up each track.
After Oblivion, the second track, Mothclaws, douses you with an intense fusion of hardstyle beats, high-octane soundscapes, and experimental bass, throwing you into hyperdrive. The trip quickly escalates as Brass Danger and Stratosphere alternate through a cycle of mind-bending drops and swirling, hypnotic melodies, that in turn swirl your mind.
Next up is Lock In with Wooli, which hits you with an explosion of heavy, earth-shaking drops that’ll send you straight into the void before the otherworldly frequencies and fluttering basslines of Brain Squeak leave you in a powerful, psychedelic trance.
Filled with a collection of glitchy melodies and gritty, hard-hitting bass drops, the titular track, Fibonacci (Part 1), ruptures the fabric of your perceived reality as you ask yourself “what the f*ck just happened?”
Finally, the first chapter of the Fibonacci story ultimately comes to an end with Final Breath, a soul-stirring collab featuring A Little Sound, which hits you with an array of celestial vocals, vibrant melodies, and gut-punching wubs.
With Fibonacci Part 1, Subtronics delivers a full-bodied sonic experience and, through his innovative sound design, explores the intricate patterns that make up the universe. In doing so, he not only showcases his unrivaled artistry but highlights a profound ability to tell stories through sound.
Geared towards connecting with fans through high-energy, festival-type tracks, Fibonacci Part 1: Oblivion was an exhilarating trip into the unknown. However, the journey across space and time is far from over. Part 2 will be a completely different Subtronics experience, and only time will tell where he will take us.
