One thing’s clear… it’s Phrva’s time.
Armed and dangerous with the bass, the heavy-hitting bass producer is taking over the game with his latest EP, Genesis.
Released on Friday, October 10, through Deadbeats, Genesis lands as a fearless display of Phrva’s boundary-pushing sound and creative identity. Spanning across six tracks, the rising producer flexes an arsenal loaded with explosive beats and hard-hitting drops of bass.
With a commanding presence, Phrva unleashes a fury of hip-hop, grime, and dubstep in a way that not only dismantles the boundaries of bass music but confirms his status as an undeniable force in the scene.
From the head-spinning wubs on the opener Genesis to the grime-riddled beats on Like This with Killa P, and the hypnotic fusion of bass and melody on Reach Me featuring Rico 56, Phrva highlights his versatile, cutting-edge sound design and in doing so delivers an absolute must-listen.
“Genesis is a very much a “let me talk my sh!t” record. It’s all about confidence and not doubting myself. As musicians and people in general, we’re so prone to comparison, questioning if what we’re doing is actually enough. This project was all about me saying “fk that, let me show what I can do,” Phrva explained.
“I explored a few different angles of dubstep throughout this EP, including the more mellow Reach Me with Rico 56, which is easily one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. At the end of the day, I hope people can give this a front to back listen and walk away going, “okay, this is Phrva.”“
