Wooli and Trivecta have joined forces to deliver their highly anticipated collaborative EP, Sam Adams.
Released today, July 17, Sam Adams is a five-track, funk-fueled journey that’s been years in the making. Highlighting a new side of their sound, Wooli and Trivecta not only push the boundaries of bass music but deliver a highly experimental body of work that blends bass music, hip-hop, and jam-band funk into an uplifting sonic experience.
Wooli & Trivecta’s Sam Adams was years in the making
While Wooli and Trivecta have worked together throughout their careers, delivering iconic EDM staples like Island with Seven Lions and cry-band anthem Falling, Sam Adams sees the duo expand their sonic reach like never before.
What began as a simple idea to make a single song gradually evolved into a full collaborative EP as the pair leaned further into their shared love of funk and jam music.
Of course, that direction didn’t come out of nowhere. From Wooli and Effin’s flip of Pretty Lights’ Hot Like Sauce to Trivecta’s own flip of Pretty Lights’ Rainbows and Waterfalls, on top of Wooli’s long unreleased collaboration with GRiZ, both artists had already been laying the groundwork for the funky sound that would ultimately define Sam Adams.
“A couple years ago we started sending ideas back and forth channeling more of our funky jammy influences,” Wooli and Trivecta shared. “We kinda just intended to make one song, but things kept spiraling, and eventually we realized we had a whole lil project coming together.”
Wooli & Trivecta embark on a funkadelic journey through sound
A play on their first names, Sam (Trivecta) and Adam (Wooli), the Sam Adams EP, stamped with album art reflecting blotter paper, channels their funky, jammy influences into a bass-induced psychedelic trip through sound while standing as a testament to their forward-thinking creativity.
Embarking on a voyage like no other, Duality of Man immediately hits you with a fury of funkadelic grooves and deep-cutting wubs that send you soaring into the clouds above.
Joining forces with Big Gigantic on Play It, the duo then reworks Wild Cherry’s 1976 smash hit Play That Funky Music into a sax-driven bass banger that’s clearly designed to light up the dance floor.
From there, Wooli and Trivecta inject Jimi Hendrix’s iconic lyrics on Purple Haze with a wubby dose of multi-colored bass on Kiss The Sky before floating through gentle waves of hip-hop and soul on Way Back featuring ProbCause.
Changing Times then closes things out with a mind-expanding fusion of wompy bass drops and hypnotic guitar riffs, bringing the journey full-circle.

“After so many collabs over the years, we have really enjoyed loosening things up for this EP,” the duo stated. “We’ve intentionally tried to not overthink things and have focused on having fun and dialing things back a bit. We’ve called in our good friends Big G and ProbCause and have cooked up some of our fav tunes in a while with them.”
