Tape B is back with one of his most intentional records yet, When I Saw You Again.
Released today, September 25, When I Saw You Again marks the final preview of his highly anticipated debut studio album, Ghost in the Static, dropping next week on October 2.
Originally sparked as a 20-second idea on a drive to San Jose in late 2025, the track went through a dozen versions before ultimately finding its final form.
Slowing things down while still holding on to the nostalgic instincts and genre-blurring approach that have defined his career, Tape B trades high-impact festival drops for emotionally charged soundscapes and spacious arrangements, resulting in an introspective and deeply personal sonic experience.
From the melancholic piano chords and soaring vocal melodies to immersive textures, deep sub-bass, and subtle hip-hop undertones, the track sees the Florida producer lean into sonic experimentation, patience, and emotional depth like never before.

Following the release of CarTunes Vol: 5 alongside massive collabs with Zaytoven, Effin, and Dani King, When I Saw You Again not only continues a defining stretch for Tape B but also offers a glimpse into the themes driving his forthcoming debut.
“When I Saw You Again is a song I’ve spent a lot of time on. I started the project in December 2025 in the car on the way to a show in San Jose and it was just a 20 second drop idea at the time. Since then, I have made at least 12 different versions of it until I finally created something that truly felt like what I was going for,” Tape B explained. “The whole song was made very intentionally and has a bunch of space to capture more emotion and feeling. I was trying to experiment with an “about me too” vibe for this while trying to keep it sounding as new and fresh as possible. As the last song on the album, I really wanted it to go out with something memorable and different.”
