After back-to-back years of battling Mother Nature, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival is officially taking a year off.
Following its return to The Farm this summer, Bonnaroo has announced that it will not take place in 2027, giving the festival grounds in Manchester, Tennessee, a full year to recover before returning in 2028.
The announcement comes after two straight years of weather-related issues at The Farm. Severe storms forced the festival to cancel in 2025, leading organizers to make major infrastructure improvements ahead of Bonnaroo’s return this summer.
That work included upgraded drainage systems, 4.5 miles of new roadways, and 135 acres of new grass throughout the campgrounds and Centeroo. The improvements helped get Bonnaroo back up and running in 2026, but another round of heavy rain hit The Farm on Sunday, leaving parts of the property in need of additional recovery.
With another festival less than a year away, organizers have instead decided to give the grounds more time to heal while continuing work across the property.
“Our intention is to give The Farm a chance to rest, recover, and continue the improvements that will allow us to bring you the best possible Bonnaroo,” organizers shared.
While the announcement means Bonnaroovians will have to wait an extra year to get back to The Farm, the hiatus is only temporary. Bonnaroo is set to return in 2028, with organizers using the additional time to prepare the property for its next chapter.
