DMVU is back with another dose of beautifully weird bass music on his new EP, Lap Dog.
Released on Friday, August 21, through Of The Trees’ imprint, Memory Palace, the Lap Dog EP taps into the genre-bending production that has long defined DMVU’s sound while marking the latest evolution of his forward-thinking artistry.
Pulling together elements of experimental bass and hip-hop intertwined with warping textures and heavy low end, the five-track EP takes listeners on an immersive journey of sonic exploration.
From the nostalgic breaks and shifting tones of Lap Dog to the glitchy precision and colliding bass influences of Telidescope with Herbalistek and the rumbling basslines and expansive soundscapes of Monolith, DMVU not only steps outside the traditional boundaries of electronic music but highlights the full spectrum of his artistry and, in doing so, discovers new ways to manipulate sound.
