Few artists have pushed the boundaries of bass music quite like INFEKT. Known for a heavy-hitting sound fueled by wonky bass drops, dark textures, and an unrelenting energy, the German producer has been wreaking havoc across dance floors and festival stages since his inception into the scene.

With the beat of the underground flowing through his veins, the riddim maestro has emerged as a defining force in modern dubstep, not by chasing trends, but by consistently refining what makes his records hit.

Now with his latest release, ORGANIC DUBSTEP, INFEKT pushes those boundaries even further. Standing as a testament to his signature, genre-bending sound, the EP infuses old-school dubstep elements with raw, electrifying bass, resulting in an experience that’s both powerful and captivating.

Released through his own label, Port Zero, ORGANIC DUBSTEP not only highlights INFEKT’s ever-evolving sonic range but solidifies his status as one of the most prolific producers and tastemakers in the modern-day bass community.

“I’m so happy with how the label has been going,” INFEKT explained in an interview with The Daily Frequency. “It’s great to see the unanimous support from everyone in the scene; everyone believing in the label and its future. Always proud to release my own music on it, and this EP feels like the next step in showcasing my progress in music production.”

That idea of progress has always driven his approach. After more than a decade in the studio, the goal hasn’t changed; it’s just gotten sharper.

“I’ve been making music for about 14 years now, and my main goal has always been to improve in every direction. Every aspect of music production can be optimized, and there’s always more to explore in sound design and techniques. I make a ton of music, and each of the 6 solo tracks on this EP represents a different direction in my production, like the best of the best of all that music I’ve made in the last year or so. And the two collabs are with artists I had been wanting to work with for a long time, so I’m super proud to have them on here!”

That range is what gives ORGANIC DUBSTEP its identity. It’s not just straight bangers front to back, it’s variation, pacing, and intention, all rooted in a sound that still hits with authority. But underneath all of it is something more intentional, something that defines what the title “organic” actually represents.

“It’s organic, it has that natural flow and groove, it’s fun, it’s about sharing passion and energy with your friends. I think dubstep overall, but especially riddim and trench, is nothing without the aspect of the live energy between people when it’s played on a sound system, and that’s something very human, very special that can only be felt when you’re there.”

That live connection sits at the center of everything he builds. These aren’t tracks meant to just sit in a playlist; they’re structured for call-and-response moments, for crowd reactions, for those sequences that stick in your head long after the set ends.

“My music always has an inherent fun goofiness to it, which, in combination with the heavy sound, makes it so much fun when you hear it live with your friends and feel the energy together. A big focus for this EP was to make the songs more catchy and memorable through samples and patterns that stay in your head. For example, I really love the way the ‘OH YEAHH’ sample plays right before the call and response of the bass sounds. That little sequence keeps getting stuck in my head.”

Underneath that simplicity is a level of detail that doesn’t come easy. The sound design is where everything gets pushed, refined, and rebuilt until it locks.

“Sound design is everything to me! It’s what keeps it fun! There’s such a primal appeal in the exploration of sound design techniques. Always more things to learn, explore, and try. New synthesizers, new methods, new combinations. You can be messing with a sound for hours, and it can sound absolutely awful until you find that one sweet spot where it hits right, and you just KNOW that’s the one!! That’s the reason why I keep coming back. It’s addictive and satisfying!”

That constant experimentation is what’s kept him evolving since he first started producing at 12. In a space where it’s easy to fall into repetition, he’s stayed focused on pushing forward, even when it means stepping outside his comfort zone.

It’s easy to get stuck in your comfort zone and repeat the same process again and again. That only works for so long. At some point, you get tired of it, so you need to keep challenging yourself and see the fun in learning new things and making mistakes along the way.”

At the same time, that growth never comes at the expense of identity. His sound expands, but it never loses what makes it his.

“I don’t like to compare myself too much with other artists or copy what they’re doing. My measure of success is my own progress, and whether I’m happy with the music I’m making. I don’t have to compromise if I think about how I can turn what works for me into something that resonates with people.”

That same mindset carries into Port Zero. The label isn’t just a home for releases, it’s meant to be something the scene can build around.

“I think our scene needed a space where artists and fans can come together and be part of something! That’s what I wanted to create with Port Zero. An outlet for artists making quality music, a place for fans to discover tunes, and generally something that gives our genre some more legitimacy! Something we can rep and be proud of.”

Outside of music, he keeps that same curiosity across everything he’s into, and those influences feed back into the sound in ways that aren’t always obvious, but still matter.

“I have so many hobbies like clothing, coffee, perfumes, video games, other music genres, fingerboarding, biking, hiking, and more. They always have an influence on my music in one way or another. I have super specific tastes in so many things. That’s what keeps life interesting!”

With ORGANIC DUBSTEP out and the Port Zero platform growing, the focus now shifts to what comes next, and bringing these tracks to life where they’re meant to be heard.

“Very hyped to play all of these tracks live of course, and on top of that I have a lot of things planned for the rest of the year that will be revealed soon! I already have a bunch of new music and new remixes to play out, and I’m about to launch a new big collaborative project with a close friend and incredible artist that I’m sure everyone here knows!”
